CHICAGO - Hands Up, It's a Heist

On Friday, April 26, the Art Institute of Chicago will welcome a heist, a Night Heights, that is. The annual fundraising event returns for a third year and is eagerly anticipated social event of the season for young professionals.

I'm excited to have exclusive after-hours access to the Art Institute’s major exhibition Picasso and Chicago—a celebration of the work of Picasso, his connections to the city, and his enduring influence.

Event also includes live music, entertainment, themed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and silent auction. Proceeds benefit the museum.

Mrs Carter World Tour - Update

Queen B launched her world tour on Monday, April 15 with her first show in Serbia. Needless to say, the costumes were out of this world! As part of the looks, Beyonce wore a sweet looking white mini dress and M slit orange dress, while on the other hand she evoked Sasha Fierce with with jewel-encrusted bodysuit complete with bedazzled "nipples" that has everyone talking! 

Emilio Pucci, Dsquared2, Ralph and Russo and Stuart Weitzman also created pieces for the tour.

Spring pastels! This edition is Mani Monday you don't have to pick just one color! QQ reader alternated blush pink with blue/purple for this pastel combination. 

7 Month Itch

Some have heard of the Seven Year Itch...both the Monroe movie and the relationship curse that after seven years couples get that tingle for something new. Fast forward 50 yrs or so and  there is a new phenomenon in the dating world called the Seven Month Itch. The idea that if you make it past 7 months, your relationship will make it to the next round, because we all know, this is just the beginning or the beginning to the end. 

The Seven Month Itch timeline goes something like this:

1-2 months: "I ❤ this person!" You are totally smitten and your partner is everything you want and more. You have stars in your eyes the world is viewed in rose colored glasses. You are on your best behavior. 

3-4 months: Now that the sparkle and glitter dust have settled, you are taking a closer look at this person and really seeing them for who they are and exposing who you really are. The honeymoon is over but if you still have kick in your step.

5-6 months: This is the time that you really start thinking about all those annoying things that your partner does. Sure, it was cute in the first couple of months but now that one thing drives you crazy. The question is: Can you deal with it? Or is it a deal breaker? 

7 month Itch: After taking stock of all the good, bad and the ugly, asking all 10 of your best friends their advice and opinions you move forward....

This week I dare you to try an ombre mani! I was in an orange mood this weekend and mixed and matched from brights to pastels to create the gradient. You can do it with any color...purple, mint/blue and pinks work well! 

ALL MINT EVERYTHING

If you can only get one item to update your look this spring, get it in mint! The watercolor green can be found from nails to gowns to cocktails. Check out this delicious recipe for the Island Time, a spin on the classic mojito. Adding a little bubbly to the recipe makes it a refreshing cocktail that you can that you can drink in style during your next ladies brunch. 

Island Time

2 oz coconut flavored rum

3 lime squeezes (then discard)

1 oz simple syrup

5 oz VOGA Sparkling Wine

5-6 mint leaves

In a shaker, combine ice, rum, simple syrup, and lime juice

Shake and pour into a chilled Collins glass

Add VOGA and mint leaves and gently stir to combine
